The CAMS Australian Off Road Championship has just announced that the Rainbow Desert Enduro will be joining the 2017 championship season.
Located in the historic township of Rainbow in Victoria, the community has welcomed the event and are ecstatic about the Enduro set to roar into life from the 4-6 of August 2017.
Brett Price from The Victorian Off Road Racing Association says the event will be fantastic for the region.
“This event will not only add to Rainbow’s existing sporting and recreational offerings, but also increase awareness of tourism opportunities and features in the region,” Price said.
“We’ve just had a working bee last weekend with club members and the local community pitching in to help prepare the course.”
Competition vehicles will be located on Federal Street on the Friday for Scrutiny including a public display, as part of an opportunity for the community to get up close and personal with the cars and the crews. The event will then be followed by a prologue on Saturday and racing Sunday.
The track lap length is 80kms and is located in the township of Rainbow and the surrounding areas, some 400kms North-West of Melbourne.
In addition to the event being the 2017 AORC season finale, the Enduro will also be a round of the CAMS Victorian Off Road Championship.
The Rainbow Desert Enduro will be the third round of the Australian Off Road Championship’s schedule, with the season opener to be confirmed shortly.
