The 2015 Cliffhanger 4WD Event has been run and won finishing up the final stages last Friday with a very close difference in points. Set again in the central outback of NSW, a very well prepared field of 20 teams tackled 17 stages with less breakages than usual and 18 competitors still going strong in the final stages.
Over the course of 5.5 days teams tackled an array of terrain from small rocks to massive boulders, mud, water, sandy creek beds, flat dusty tracks and walls that looked near impossible to beat. More navigation and speedy creek runs than in previous years gave the competitors exactly what they wanted, a great event with a great atmosphere.
With fierce competition across the field it was definitely a hard task to come out on top, however John “Biders” Bidwell and Russell Andrew in the Biders 4WD Unlimited Nissan GQ showed they had what it takes and took out first place with a total of 1473 points. First time Cliffhanger competitors Steve McPherson and James Foster-Green took out 2nd place on 1427 points in the Patroldocta GQ closely followed by 3rd, the Warragul Towing GQ of Nic Hodge and Daniel Fusinato only 3 points behind on 1424 points.
