The ranks of Can Am’s are led by internationally experienced rally driver Michael Guest and the Chivers. Their competition is the Polaris buggies led by former Asia Pacific Rally Champion Cody Crocker.
The 600kg buggy will reach speeds of up to 120 km/h on the same stages as the rally cars and the diminutive engine will be at full-revs for as much as 24 kilometres (the longest stage) at a time which is why the team relies on “Extreme Performance” (EP) lubricants from the 100% owned and operated Australian lubricant manufacturer, Anglomoil.
The Chivers say this is their favourite event on the calendar and they don’t mind the infamous covering of “marbles” on the forests roads which have claimed several rally crews over the years.
The Quit Forest Rally consists of 187km of special stages over three days.
