Just Customs winning streak at the Tough Dog Tuff Truck Challenge continued on the weekend, with Michael ‘Pip’ Justice and Tim Nolan taking their third consecutive victory at the 2018 instalment of the event. The victory was set up with stage wins on the Travel Ramp, Mud Rats Revenge and Heartbreak Ridge in the v8 powered, portal axle equipped Just Customs TJ Jeep, with the Victorians amassing a total of 1213 points over the three days of competition.
Red Zook has been a fixture on the Tuff Truck podium in recent years and Tim Scott and Luke Schmahl piloted the Sierra rolling on 42’s into second place with 1157 points, with a crushing stage win on the All Terrain and victory on the Frame Twister. After consecutive 4th place finishes in 2016 & 2017, Team Lasernut jumped on to the final step of the 2018 Tuff Truck podium in 2018. US rock crawler, Jesse Haines once again crossed the Pacific to steer Steve Johns Willys Jeep, picking up stage wins on the technical Rock Garden and Jaw Breaker stages on their way to a total of 1131 points.
Dave Camp and Ricky Nolan were successfully reunited to campaign the Team OPW 40 Series. Taking the win on the Mystery Night Stage and fourth overall with 1046 points, ahead of the brand new Twin Lakes Auto Electrics TJ Jeep of Mark and Danny Peters in 5th with 1027 points.
Congratulations to the Tuff Truck team on producing another stellar event. The longer and more technical reworked tracks produced some outstanding drives and fantastic spectating over the three days on the rocks at Milbrodale.
