Featuring a solid entry field of almost 40 cars and an exciting race format which saw four at a time starts, the Off Road Rush Caboolture Short Course showcased offroad racing at it’s best on the weekend. Held over two days, the racing turned wet and slippery with heavy rain dousing the region. Making the most of their 4wd grip, the Superlite UTV’s dominated the podium. David Loughnan took the outright victory in the #611 Can-Am he double entered with his daughter Amy, who finished third outright. The pair were split by the #643 Polaris of Paul Malt in second outright.
The 4wd classes revelled in the mud with Jason Keen taking his #722 Jeep to 4th outright ahead of the leading Prolite, #128 Troy Duff in fifth. Travis Rosewarne piloted the #879 Raemus Landrover to the Extreme 4wd win. Of the 16 competitors to complete the entire 16 lap race distance, 3 were Superlites, 4 were Production 4wd’s and 3 were Extreme 4wd’s. Mark Dutton drove Brendan Hall’s #62 Southern Cross to the Probuggy win, Aaron Nicoll continued his good form in the Sportsman category to take another class win, while Paul Vann was the Super 1650 winner in his Honda powered Hornet.
