The driver line up for the Stadium Super Trucks at the Castrol Gold Coast 600 this weekend has been announced today, with Aussie’s filling 5 of 11 seats. The latest addition to the grid is the smiling South Australian Trophy Truck Pilot, Greg Gartner. Gartner is widely regarded as one of the most spectacular drivers on the Australian Off Road circuit in his Toyo shod Ford F-150, with a right foot that never lifts and commitment that bounces off the limiter.
He will be joined on the track by Hot Wheels star, Matt Mingay, who took it to the Americans at Clipsal earlier in the year. Despite recovering from a recent crash on his Harley where he injured his rib pretty bad, Mingay is fired up for the GC600 “I have no doubt I will be in a lot of pain by doing 300+ jumps over the 3 day weekend. But hell it will be worth it!! God bless pain killers” he announced on Facebook today.
Paul Morris, Matt Brabham and Brett Thomas fill the remaining Aussie seats.
In the US camp, Robby Gordon and Sheldon Creed will pick up where they left off at the Sandsports Super Show a few weeks ago, where Creed came away with his 5th victory of the year. Keegan Kincaid will be another aiming to build on his tally, with 3 victories so far this season. While Scotty Steele captured his first SST victory in Round 11 at the Indy Toronto.
