The Finke Desert Race Club has announced that entries for the auto section of the 2015 Tatts Finke Desert Race will open on Monday 16th March.
“We are expecting strong interest this year in the auto section from competitors keen to be part of the 40th Finke celebrations”, said Club President Antony Yoffa. “If everyone enters that says they will, we will be oversubscribed again” said Mr Yoffa in reference to bike entries that filled on the day they opened. “We established a waitlist for the bikes and may have to for the cars.
This year there is a maximum field of 110 in the car section.
” The Tatts Finke Desert Race is this year expecting in excess of 800 competitors making it the biggest field ever. With around 80% of competitors coming from interstate and bringing on average seven supporters each, this will see a big influx of interstate visitors in June.
The Finke is the biggest annual sporting event in Central Australia and a four time NT Tourism Award winning event.

The Tatts Finke Desert Race will be held on the 5-8th June in Alice Springs.
