The Gigglepin Pro 4×4 Challenge being held at Tooborac on the 13th & 14th September 2014, will see Winch Challenge competition make a return to Victoria.

The tracks will be designed by Wayne Smith, who is drawing on his experience from King of the Hammers USA and Mexico, Dresden-Breslau Rallye, Malaysia RFC and Croatia Trophy to bring to Victoria a new methodology to the 4×4 weekend event.

On Saturday morning there will be a Super Enduro stage with all vehicles on the stage at the same time so there will be some passing action as the Challenge Class will be attempting to complete three laps including a Gigglepin Challenge where you can see how tough these guys really are. These sections are near the Saturday car park they will be the most challenging and navigators have to find the best route through mountains of boulders up the hillside.

The afternoon will test the drivers over two or three short, dog ugly stages that will test their winching teamwork and driver ability. This is where the over zealous teams create mayhem as there is a high potential for vehicle damage unless they think about their actions. The competitors will be split into three groups so there will be non-stop action all afternoon.

Sunday is not going to be a day of rest as the teams will be on the track from 8.30am. Three stages will be running simultaneously with a 4th stage in reserve in case we get ahead of ourselves. The parking for Sunday is in a different area but you still use the same access roads.

Venue is Hawkes Hill Lane, Tooborac. Access is via Hawkes Rd (NOT Hagans Lane) which is 2.9km from Tooborac off the Lancefield –Tooborac Rd. “4X4 Event” signs will be in place with arrows to direct you to the site.

Spectator camping has been acquired near the Tooborac Hotel & Brewery and campers will need to pre register. We trust that the spectators come to the event to enjoy themselves but there will be a police presence to ensure there is no unreasonable or drunken behaviour.

Spectators are welcome on Saturday & Sunday @$20/adult, kids under 15 free. Gates open at 8.30am.

This is an alcohol free event.

The CFA will be manning the gate in return for a donation for funding fire fighting and rescue equipment. CFA members will direct you where to park on site but it is close to the action. A gold coin donation will be much appreciated.
