Last weekend marked the official start of the 2018 Carnarvon Motel West Australian Off Road Championship six round series.

Many of the 47 entrants who are set to compete at Perenjori next weekend made the trip to the GTurbo Workshops to have the officials give the tick of approval to get racing on Saturday 3rd March. With the sun out and sausages sizzling, family and friends enjoyed the afternoon seeing competitors and their teams rock up and show off the hard work that is required to get a car ready to race.

Graeme Bentink from GTurbo Diesel Performance was on hand to offer a free Dyno Tune to competitors, and this proved quite a spectacle as the revs were cranked and the decibels punched out from the amazing racing vehicles.

The WA Off Road Junior Development Program had their race car (#583) at today’s scrutineering event which was expertly managed by Fluffy Fahey to ensure the car is up to the task next week. This is an exciting part of the WAORC as the car is the first of what will be many more in the Junior Program. Mathew Beck will Pilot this car with ‘Fluff’ sitting in as Navigator.

So make no mistake, the seasons first scrutineering has shown that things are shaping up for the biggest and best series yet! The hard work is done, the boxes are ticked, now it is time for the rubber to hit the road and see what can be done in some amazing vehicles by many amazing people. Standby for updates next weekend!
