SeaLake Rollercoaster of Narva Racing

Mick Magher and Daniel Hose rode the rollercoaster only offroad racing can deliver in the #882 Narva Racing GU Patrol over the Queens Birthday long weekend in June. Returning to the familiar Victorian hunting ground for the 41st running of the MBL SeaLake Mallee Rally ARB 350, Magher didn’t waste any time getting down to business. Unleashing all the power of the SRE built V8 under the hood of the Narva GU to be the quickest of the Extreme 4WD’s in the prologue. He finished a tidy 1.8 seconds ahead of #832 Owen Ward and 9 seconds in front of #858 Kerry Turley, the winner of round 1 of the ARB Off Road Racing Series at Broken Hill.

The hustle continued in the crowd pleasing Dash for Cash which followed, with the Extreme 4WD’s going toe to toe on a shortened version of the Prologue course. Starting on the opposite side of the loop to Turley, Magher took charge and held on for the win to cap off a good day in the big blue office.

The trend continued on Sunday, with Magher comfortably holding down the class lead two laps into the four lap race, despite a solid early charge from Ward.

“SeaLake is a good fun track and we were feeling confident.” Said Magher “In contrast to Paringa, there was little dust with mud spray on the windscreen in the shining sun proving to be the only challenge to visibility.”

On lap three fortune turned for the worse, with the transmission delivering a box full of neutrals to end their weekend. Leaving Kerry and Bree Turley to take the Extreme 4WD Class win in the #858 Patrol.

Looming large on the horizon is Griffith, round three of the ARB Off Road Series supported by Narva and Cooper Tires. But before the team ventures north across the border into NSW, they have a huge weekend ahead at the new Explore Australia Expo being held at the Melbourne Showgrounds from June 20-22.

“We really enjoyed showcasing offroad racing at the National 4WD Show last year and can’t wait to get the #882 V8 Narva GU back out on the track and turn it on for the crowds. We spend so much of the year in regional centres, it is always exciting to light up the arena and bring the sport to the people, they love it.”

“The transporter will be on deck and between our two daily shows we will have our brand new team posters to give away, along with some goodies from our sponsors. It is shaping up to be a top weekend in the city.”
